"There was a guy named Robert who hung out around the bus stop near my apartment back in college. He was homeless so it was one of the places he stopped by on a daily basis. Once in a while I’d leave care packages or lunch on his bench near the bus stop with a little note. He always left little rosebuds or flowers he’d picked as thank yous around the bench or the signboards."
